Where the Last Great Whales Are Born, and the Sea of Cortez Calls Our Children Home
Journey to Laguna San Ignacio, one of the last undeveloped California gray whale birthing lagoons on Earth, tucked deep inside the UNESCO-protected El Vizcaíno Biosphere Reserve. Our cohort will camp beachside during Presidents' Week during one of the most active birthing weeks of the year to venture out in small pangas and get to experience life changing encounters with curious gray whale mothers and their calves. Working alongside local, women-led teams, our cohort will plant mangrove seedlings and obtain deep learning around what it takes to protect the lagoon's fragile ecosystem.
From there, we cross to Isla Espíritu Santo, an uninhabited UNESCO island in the Sea of Cortez, where mothers and children kayak alongside whale sharks, snorkel with a resident colony of playful sea lions, and drift beside sea turtles and manta rays in some of the clearest water in North America, cementing our desire to protect this specatcular habitat.
Together, our cohort will make a collective philanthropic investment in the Daughters for Earth Mangrove Restoration Project, led by WILDCOAST in partnership with Mujeres de El Dátil — extending their work of 50,000+ mangroves planted across a further 287 acres of coastal forest.

Ecuador x CARE
The Wellspring of Change: Women, Water, and the Power to Transform
Venture into the enchanted highlands of Ecuador, where the story of water begins—rising from mist-covered mountains, flowing through cloud forests, and feeding the mighty Amazon that carries a fifth of the world’s freshwater. Here, water is more than a resource—it is a living force that connects us all.
Together with our partner CARE, we’ll explore how Ecuadorian women are harnessing this power to create ripples of change through savings, micro-enterprise, and community leadership—inviting their children to take part in building a sustainable future alongside them. Their intergenerational approach mirrors our own AtlasDaughters cohort of mothers and children, coming together in a rare moment of global connection and shared purpose.
Through dialogue, storytelling, and the universal language of water, we’ll witness how empowered families—across continents—can protect the ecosystems that sustain life and shape a more equitable, hopeful world for generations to come.

Realized Journeys
In July 2025, we embarked on an unforgettable journey to the culturally rich islands of Samoa to experience the pilot of a revolutionary program aimed at eradicating one of the world’s most harmful plastic waste offenders: diapers.
Against the majestic backdrop of Samoa’s lush landscapes and vibrant culture, we immersed ourselves in the beauty of island life while learning from community leaders. The journey continued to Fiji, where we dove deep into ocean conservation through programs led by marine biologists at a family-focused property designed for education and connection.
